La Maison


I love a good home (hence starting the 'other' blog) and, in France, so many of their outsides are as tres joile as their insides.


One of my favorite things the french do is let the visitor know who they're visiting:  Every Madame, Mademoiselle and Monsieur are announced properly.  As it should be...











As with most things I'm shooting, the French look at me with a sidelong glance wondering what the hell I would find so interesting about someone's front door, or their doorbell, or their window, or their gate, yard or studio. 

But when there's something beautiful to discover with most every step, I just keep shooting.

Ah, but notice how they all stick with the traditional M & Mme! No married woman could possibly have her own identity once she's married. It's almost as bad as in Greek, where women's last names are in the genitive case, indicating they are literally the possession of their father or husband. Plus ca change...
