It Takes Class

I'm thrilled to be getting ready to teach again at my sister's annual Art of Craft weekend that takes place the end of January... and there's a question that I've been pondering a lot.  It's also struck me that the answer is probably very different to each individual (individualism being what it is and all...)
So, Readers, I turn to you for an answer:  What makes a good class?
You're an adult, you're paying for a class, what makes it a memorable, 'i'd-like-to-do-that-again' kind of class?

I've taken a number of classes over the years and I've stood in the wings on a number of others and I'm trying to come up with some concrete things that make a good class... but I'm really interested in what others think on this one:
What do you appreciate the most?  What detail stands out to you?  Was it the craft itself?  The teacher?  The supplies?  The techniques?
Do tell!

Learning a new technique or process is what I most enjoy. Next would be the creative energy and stimulus of working together. All that, and grooving on everyone else's stash! XO, Hol

Techniques, ephemera and the intimacy of creative souls being in their happy place all at one time! It also helps to have a few comedians and witty peeps in the bunch!

I like getting notes or sketches ahead of time, so I don't have to write while the instructor is speaking and demonstrating.

I like starting on time.

I like instructors that find a way to creatively contain the one or two classmates who talk constantly.

I like learning new techniques. It's more fun being in classes where the teacher is interested in the students and gives feedback. Having enough time to complete the project is great.

But what makes a class exceptional for me is when I make a deep connection and learn something about my self as an artist.
I have no idea how a teacher can plan for that. I just know I have had that experience a few times and it is wholly magical!

p.s. you're a good teacher.
